Mountain Archery Fest (MAF) is coming back to Lookout Pass in Mullan, Idaho July 09-11, 2021. If you missed it last year, then you’re in for a treat. This resort is nestled between Idaho and Montana about 50 miles from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho In the Silver Valley. Last year was tough for us all, but we still managed to hold one heck of a festival for all that attended. Registration goes live in a few days so get registered to shoot at a fantastic resort, don’t hesitate on registration; it’ll fill up fast. Lookout Pass offers more than just skiing and archery, they offer a 15-mile mountain bike trail called Route of the Hiawatha Trail. It begins in Montana and runs downhill through tunnels and over trestles to the North Fork of the St. Joe River. It includes the 1.6-mile-long tunnel at St. Paul Pass. This trail isn’t open in the winter, so now would be a great time to get your archery on and take a scenic bike ride.
Just like the other locations, we’ll be using the “industry’s #1 preferred GPS hunting app”, BaseMap as our navigation tool. If you choose to shoot the Basemap course you’ll want to download the app since this course is not flagged and you’ll have to use it to navigate to each shooting location and target. If you haven’t tried BaseMap, then you’re missing out. Check out the advanced Kryptek course with 25 targets ranging from 5 to 100+ yards that will challenge even the most experienced shooter, or the Basemap course with 25 targets ranging from 3 to 150 yards! If you’re a moderate kind of hunter and want more of an intermediate shooting experience you should try the Pope & Young course or the Eastmans’ Tag Hub course. Both are designed for the intermediate type shooter with 25-29 targets ranging from 10 to 65 yards. Eastmans’ offers some of the largest targets and more realistic hunting scenarios and is great for traditional shooters. Pope & Young is a totally different story. They offer 29 recreated North American World Records on an educational course detailing each animal and the experience behind it. Shooters can attempt to duplicate some of the shots taken for these Slam Records.
MAF is giving away FREE stuff!!!! The first 2000 people to register get a free one-year subscription to Eastman’s EBJ, EHJ, & TagHub and will be entered to win over $75,000 in Hunt giveaways, and over $50,000 in prizes!! The end of the year prizes will be given away live on Instagram & Facebook July 25th @ 3pm at Snowbasin Ski Resort UT.
