Harvard F. "Harv" Ebers, 91, a bowhunting legend and founding member of Pope & Young Club, passed away August 26, 2026. Ebers set a 1959 world record for the largest caribou taken in Alaska with his hand-crafted bow and was inducted into both Pope and Young Hall of Fame and North America Bow Hunters Hall of Fame in 2021.

Dennis Highby, former Cabela's CEO who joined the company in 1976 and led it to become a $4 billion outdoor retailer, passed away February 26 at age 76. Highby was instrumental in Cabela's growth, IPO in 2004, and was credited by industry leaders like Gary Loomis and Tim Leatherman for launching their success.
