New York, Nov. 15, 2022 - It’s the most wonderful time of the year! It’s not about the holidays; it’s about Ballistic’s Best. Athlon Outdoors is thrilled to launch the fifth annual Ballistics' Best Readers’ Choice Awards. Voting is open to the public, running from November 14 through December 14. This is the chance for readers to cast their vote for their favorite guns from 2022. Ballistic’s experienced editors have narrowed the playing field after evaluating over 150 guns to select the 79 finalists for this year’s reader’s choice survey. These are the best of the best firearms available in 2022 from 48 different firearm brands.
Participants will see some familiar brands like Springfield, Beretta, Walther, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, FN, Taurus, and maybe less familiar brands like Mauser, Rock River Arms, Cadex, Altus Rifles, Stoeger and Sabatti.
This year, Ballistic’s editors focused on the following nine categories of firearms:
? Handguns: Full-Size Semi-Autos — 10 contenders
? Handguns: Compact Semi-Autos — 11 contenders
? Handguns: 1911s — 6 contenders
? Handguns: Revolvers —4 contenders
? Handguns: .22 Rimfires —9 contenders
? Shotguns: Tactical 12 Gauges —10 contenders
? Rifles: Semi-Autos — 12 contenders
? Rifles: Bolt-Action Hunter —10 contenders
? Rifles: Bolt-Action PRS —7 contenders
Ballistic’s editors and content creators have already chosen the winners, but readers will need to wait for the results until the Ballistic Dec. 22/Jan. 23 issue officially goes on sale December 6th. However, just as important to the contenders is the winning gun for each category selected by Ballistic’s readers. The highly coveted Ballistic’s Best Reader’s Choice winners solidify these guns as fan favorites.
