SAN ANTONIO — The Texas Deer Association (TDA) is pleased to announce the next stop on its statewide tour to promote more affordable hunting will be in Katy, Texas, just outside of Houston. TDA will showcase its all-new Hunt for Less program at the Bass Pro Shop in Katy, Texas, on Saturday, October 24, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 4 pm.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The nation’s largest deer breeding association, the Texas Deer Association (TDA) will introduce raising and breeding whitetail and mule deer to thousands of ranchers from across America and Mexico at the 1st Annual San Antonio International Farm and Ranch Show on October 8, 2009 through October 10, 2009. In addition to TDA’s exhibiting at the event, the TDA will host a seminar on the ‘State of the Deer Industry’ at 1:15pm on Friday, October 9, 2009.

TDA is visiting several Bass Pro Shop locations in Texas to showcase its all-new Hunt for Less program which can save hunters hundreds of dollars on a wide variety of hunting opportunities.

Year after year, the annual Texas Deer Association convention is the largest deer event in the State of Texas, and the 11th Annual TDA Convention & Fund Raiser next month promises to be the largest in history.

SAN ANTONIO — As the state’s only non-profit organization dedicated to Texas deer, the Texas Deer Association (TDA) recently donated dozens of plush deer toys to The Children’s Shelter in San Antonio. Stuffed animals are often used to help children who are in need or in distress due to abandonment or neglect, and TDA’s cuddly fawn toys with their special eartags always bring smiles.

BRADY, Texas — Whitetail and mule deer enthusiasts always give education a warm reception, but there is one seminar in the Lone Star State that is “Hotter Than Hell”…the Hotter Than Hell Deer Seminar held at the Heart of Texas Trophy Whitetail Ranch in Brady, Texas. The event will be held on June 25, 2009, and feature a wide array of topics including deer herd management; deer blinds, bottle-feeding fawns; using GPS to manage a ranch; darting, medicating and transporting deer; fire ant control and much more. Plus, attendees will have chance to win a 2009 Buck Fawn!

SAN ANTONIO — Serving as proud stewards of Texas deer, the Texas Deer Association (TDA) board of directors has approved a $50,000 research funding gift to the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University. The approved funding is a big step forward for deer disease research and will assist the College of Veterinary Medicine develop groundbreaking research that will benefit whitetail deer and the deer industry throughout the United States for years to come.

HOUSTON — Five months ago, Texans were shocked to learn that a beloved whitetail deer at the Bear Creek Pioneers Park in western Harris County had been horribly killed and decapitated. The senseless slaying of the deer named ’Mr. Buck’ saddened thousands of adults and children who enjoyed visiting the friendly deer and scratching his chin through the fence.

SAN ANTONIO — Strengthening its commitment to outdoor education, the Texas Deer Association has announced its support of Outdoor Texas in establishing a summer youth camp dedicated to deer education in 2009. The all-new summer ‘Deer Camp’ will teach young outdoor enthusiasts about whitetail and mule deer in Texas, and is slated to begin July 12, 2009.
