DODGEVILLE, Wis. - Once again, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will host an Open House here to present information on deer management, herd status and hunting in Grant, Iowa and Lafayette Counties.
The Open House will be held on Monday, March 15, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at the Dodger Bowl, 318 King St., Dodgeville, Wis.
DNR wildlife biologists Bruce Folley, Darlington, Dan Goltz, Boscobel, and Don Bates, Dodgeville, will focus on the 2009 deer harvest and season summary for chronic wasting disease (CWD) deer management units (DMU) 70A, 70C, 70D, 73B, 73E, 75B, 75C and 75D.
These units encompass Iowa County, most of Lafayette County, Grant County east of State Highways 81/61, and Governor Dodge, Blue Mound and Yellowstone Lake State Parks.
They will also show a video covering updates on deer management, hunter involvement in deer management, new research initiatives, communications and the DNR’s proposed CWD management plan.
The biologists emphasize that the Open House is aimed primarily for those persons who hunt, reside or are interested in the deer herd status of the eight DMU’s.
