AUSTIN, Texas — Helping to preserve our American outdoor traditions, the American Deer & Wildlife Alliance is extremely proud to announce plans for an all-new Youth Safari Camp that will provide kids with a singularly memorable outdoor experience hunting exotic game.
Working in conjunction with the Exotic Wildlife Association, the ADWA Youth Safari Camp will provide youth hunters — accompanied by a parent or guardian — with an evening and morning hunt for exotic species such as blackbuck antelope, scimitar-horned oryx, Corsican rams and others at a fraction of the cost of normal exotic hunts.
“Increased affordability and accessibility are two of the major obstacles which prevent youth from discovering the joys of nature and the thrill of hunting,” says John Meng, president of ADWA. “Hunting exotics has become too expensive for many families, but the ADWA Safari Camp will provide young sportsmen with an affordable, outdoor adventure they will remember for a long time.”
The camp will be located on an 800-acre ranch near New Braunfels, Texas, and will feature an African-styled tented campsite where youth hunters will enjoy preparing meals by campfire and a weekend of hunting exotic game. While prices for the hunts have yet to be determined, it is currently estimated that first-time hunters (along with a parent/guardian) will be able to attend the camp for about 25 percent of the cost of a typical exotic hunt.
The American Deer & Wildlife Alliance works through the American Deer & Wildlife Foundation (ADWF), a 501(3)c non-profit organization, to increase the accessibility and affordability of hunting for youth and to educate children on wildlife and conservation issues.
As part of its overall mission, ADWA partners with companies and organizations within the industry to promote their products, services, membership benefits and overall growth of the industry through education and aggressive public relations. Serving as a ’PR engine’ for its members, ADWA combines the benefits of marketing and education to inspire credibility among consumers and unity within the industry. ADWA is also the title sponsor of Keith Warren’s Deer & Wildlife Stories, airing on the Outdoor Channel.
