GMS Partners with the American Deer & Wildlife Alliance

2009-01-05

WACO, Texas — Designers of the No. 1 tool in game management, GMS® has announced its membership to the American Deer & Wildlife Alliance™ (ADWA), a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion and growth of the deer and wildlife industry. GMS will work with ADWA to expand opportunities within the industry, and is offering a 10 percent discount to ADWA members on the purchase of GMS®, GMS PRO software or the new GMS ‘Sell-A-Deer’ software module.

The Sell-A-Deer module is the latest technology from GMS and directly aids deer breeders bring their animals to market. With the new GMS Sell-A-Deer module, deer breeders and wildlife managers can automatically upload the stored data on a particular animal, including pedigrees and images, onto the web site. Storing and maintaining records has always been a key component for successful game management, and the new Sell-A-Deer module allows a breeder to transition the information directly into a sales tool to market their animals more efficiently and cost-effectively.

“GMS is a well-known supporter of deer breeder associations across the country, and ADWA works to combine resources to promote the industry nationwide,” says Mike Owens, president of GMS. “I’m particularly excited with the debut of Deer & Wildlife Stories on the Outdoor Channel of which ADWA is the title sponsor. It’s the first nationally broadcast television show to highlight the deer farming industry and we want to support ADWA’s efforts to grow and create awareness for the industry.”

“GMS technology has been endorsed by some of the largest game ranches in the country and by independent authorities such as Deer Channel Inc., which is an industry leader in deer science and a staunch advocate for the enhancement, protection, and conservative wildlife management,” says Annie Jones, director of operators for ADWA. “We are very proud to welcome GMS as a new member to ADWA.”

ADWA partners with companies and organizations within the industry to promote products, services and overall growth of the industry through education and aggressive public relations. The new Deer & Wildlife Stories, presented by the American Deer & Wildlife Alliance, debuts on the Outdoor Channel on January 3, 2008 at 5:30 p.m. and will air three times a week. Unlike any show on television today, the new show will get up close and personal with whitetail deer and educate viewers on deer farming and about the future of the species.

Innovative and comprehensive, GMS management software has revolutionized how many hunting and breeding operations measure success. The GMS program helps hunting operations and land owners manage properties, whose focus is on quality deer and game management (including deer farmers/breeders), organize and maintain the important information needed to manage a successful ranch. GMS allows users to begin quality deer management, track all aspects of a hunting property, develop plans to help maximize herd health, quantify herd ratios, compositions and age structures, develop a wildlife management plan, schedule hunts, record information in the field via Pocket PC technology and much more.
