Texas Bighorn Society Announces 19th Annual Round-Up

2007-04-15

DALLAS — Mark your calendars and make your reservations now as the Texas Bighorn Society’s 19th Annual Roundup returns to the beautiful Texas Hill Country! On April 27th and 28th, 2007, the best little conservation organization in Texas will be converging on the Inn of the Hills in Kerrville, Texas for all the fun and excitement of our annual fundraiser.

This year’s convention promises to be more fun than ever with great raffles like a Gold Medal red stag hunt in New Zealand with SCI’s 2006 Professional Hunter of the Year, Gary Herbert’s New Zealand Mountain Hunting Ltd., or a shopping spree at Neiman Marcus! On Friday, a private tour of Bruce Keller’s magnificent trophy room in nearby Comfort has been arranged, and on Saturday attendees can shoot sporting clays, golf, or head out for a champagne brunch and shopping in historic Fredricksburg, Texas. Both evenings will include dinner and exciting auctions and raffles with a chaser of TBS’s favorite entertainer Mr. Kip Attaway!

The Inn of the Hills is nearly booked up, but there are a few rooms available at the Y O Ranch Resort, and there are a couple of bed and breakfasts in the area that have supported TBS in the past that may be able to help out with accommodations. Follow these links to reach them: www.roddytree.com  and www.thepaintedhorsebb.com, and be sure to mention TBS when making your reservations. One other link that may be able to help is www.wkcc.com/Accommodations/Lodging.htm

Once again, the TBS auction will feature some great items like original artwork from Trevor Swanson, great hunting and fishing trips from Texas and beyond, fine optics, unique home furnishings, and much, much more! TBS will also have some big news to announce on Saturday that you won’t want to miss!

If you would be able to help out in any way with set-up, organization, or donations please contact Pam & Jerrell Coburn by phone at 817-654-3500 or by e-mail at pcoburn@flash.net, or Theresa & David Wetzel by phone at 972-259-3699 or e-mail at information@texasbighornsociety.org. TBS is an all volunteer organization and we count on your help to do the great work we do bringing bighorns back to the mountains of Texas.
