TruckVault Gets Greener

2010-04-25

SEDRO WOOLLEY, Wash. - TruckVault, Inc, makers of the world’s finest in-vehicle lockable storage for firearms and valuables is proud to announce: "we are making a difference by going green".

"The single largest area of improvement we could make with TruckVault products was in the choice of what materials we decided to use. After extensive research we chose to work with a lighter, sustainably harvested, material called Sande Lite; a product that is CARB (California Air Resource Board) compliant and carries the strictest emission certification to be found in the U.S.!", said Don Fenton, Sales & Marketing Director for TruckVault. "Moreover, in taking a good close look at every aspect of our build we were happy to find that we could build a quality product that benefits the environment with no increased costs to the consumer. At the end of the day we were able to improve our environmental manufacturing footprint and provide the same level of quality product our customers have come to expect without raising prices...this creates a win for the environment, our customers and for TruckVault!", said Fenton.

The use of Sande Lite reduced the weight of TruckVault products by as much as 30%, saving on fuel costs in shipping and more importantly reducing added weight to vehicles which saves on fuel costs for consumers. Lower fuel use cuts emissions which protects our environment. Sande Lite products are also California Air Resource Board (CARB) compliant which is one of the strictest ratings you can achieve for renewable resources.

TruckVault carpet is made from post consumer content-recycled materials which reduces landfill quantities of polyester polymers. TruckVault uses a new non-toxic carpet glue which is GreenGuard certified to be environmentally friendly. Lastly, all of the hardware used in TruckVault products is made of recycled metals and plastics all the way down to the protective rubber mat material, used to protect the tops of TruckVaults when in use, which is made up of 97% recycled rubber.
